sed, awk, vmstat netstat and mail commands

Shell Scripting Tutorial-19 sed, awk, vmstat, netstat and mail commads explained.

sed command is a stream editor used for modifying the files in unix (or linux). Whenever you want to make changed to the file automatically, sed comes in handy to do this.

Awk command / tool is used to manipulate text rows and columns in a file. Awk has built in string functions and associative arrays. Awk supports most of the operators, conditional blocks and available in C language.

vmstat is a tool that reports data about your machine’s processor,free memory,swap,io and cpu resource utilisation in real time.

netstat command is used to list out LISTENING ports, Established connections.

mail utility is used to send an script out.
